Construction Process for Tile Adhesives

3. For wall surfaces with high water absorption at the base layer, a mortar crack-resistant agent can be applied as a primer coat for sealing treatment.
4. Reference Ratio: Material-to-water ratio = 1:0.2 (by weight). Mechanically mix the flexible tile adhesive according to the above ratio for 3–5 minutes (or manually mix thoroughly until uniform). Adjust the consistency to a suitable level for construction. After letting it sit for 5 minutes, stir again before proceeding with application.

Apply the uniformly mixed flexible tile adhesive evenly onto the substrate using a notched trowel, with a mortar thickness of 3 mm to 5 mm (the actual thickness will depend on the material of the tiles). Then, use the notched surface of the toothed trowel to create grooves and ridges. Next, proceed to lay the tiles or slab-like stones, pressing them firmly and leveling them thoroughly. Tiles can be adjusted and aligned within 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can also use the traditional bonding method: apply the uniformly mixed flexible tile adhesive to the back side of the tiles or slab-like stones, one piece at a time, and press each piece firmly into place. The construction thickness should be 3 to 5 mm, and the tiles can be adjusted and aligned within 20 minutes.
6. For bricks with greater thickness and mass, a bonding agent thickness of 5–7 mm is recommended. The setting time depends on factors such as ambient temperature and humidity levels; generally, the initial setting time is 4 hours, and the final setting time is 24 hours.
7. The prepared adhesive should be used up within 2 hours.
